Revival?

Maybe. Maybe not. Only time will tell I guess.

Things I am into right now:
  1. Kasey Rihanna. Seriously, she is the coolest. Even though she destroys lots of things.
  2. NSYNC greatest hits. Don't judge me. It makes my commute way better.
  3. The new J-O-B. Way less stress. And totally entertaining.
  4. Marble Slab. It is just so good. Right down the street, too.
  5. GLEE. It's like High School Musical for adults and it's funny. What's not to love.
  6. Mexican food.
  7. Brooks. And his hair.
  8. Arkansas.
  9. Brandon Walsh.
  10. The Container Store. It's almost too much for my OCD self to handle.
aaaand that's all.

House of Fun

My sis, bro-in-law, and sweet nephew were in town this past weekend. They drove in from Arkansas on Friday. I left work and met them at Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. They then went on to the Galleria while I finished up work for the day.

That evening we went out to eat at Blue Goose. While we were waiting for our table, my sister and I took Brooks over to Barnes and Noble. Kristin was looking for some cookbooks. Brooks was 'browsing' the cookbooks too. He went straight to the grilling section-what a little man!

I don't know how to turn this picture, but I thought it was too cute not to post.

We had to wait about an hour. I was so surprised at how good Brooks was. He loves cheese dip (Side Note: Chris hates when I call it cheese dip. Apparently the correct word is queso. I'm staying true to my Arkansas roots and calling it cheese dip) though, so he was happy once we got to the table. The next day we really did not do anything organized. We ate (what we do best!) and shopped some. The main event of the day was getting Brooks a haircut. The boy has gotten at least 10 haircuts, so you would think that he would be used to them by now. Not the case at all. He bawled like I have never seen before. I couldn't help but laugh. He was SO dramatic. The funniest part was when he could barely breathe from crying so hard, yet he was able to take a lick of that dum dum they gave him. He turned the drama/crying switch off as soon as he got out of the chair with a 'Q' (Thank you) and a big smile.

We headed back to the house for Brooks to take a nap. He didn't sleep a wink, but Chris and I sure did. Ha. We woke up just in time to start dinner. We decided to try Giada'a lasagna rolls. They were pretty good. I think next time I would rather add some italian sausage instead of the proscuitto. That meat kind of weirded me out.

As my sister were cooking dinner, we looked over and both Chris and Mike were reading People and US Weekly. And talking about it. We thought it was so funny, so I had to capture the moment.

Brooks is at such a sweet/cute age. He actually knows who I am now. He can't quite get my name right. He calls me 'Ga-lee' but I totally answer to it. He loved watching movies and running around Aunt Katie and Uncle Chris' house. It is the house of fun! We can't wait for more visits from him. Especially when we go to Great Wolf Lodge. Seriously, the countdown is on.

Isn't he so sweet?!?!

Sunday Funday

This morning Chris and I were getting ready for church. We were discussing our plans for the day. The conversation was as follows...

Chris: I need to clean out the garage today.

Me: OK, I think that I am going to go...(then interrupted)

Chris: Workout???? Note: I have not worked out in MONTHS.

Me: um. shopping.

Good thing I was in a joking mood this morning. We laughed. His excuse? 'I was just thinking about how I needed to workout.' Riiiight.

Church was great today. Matt is back preaching live. It is so encouraging to have him back! We love The Village Church and all the people we have been able to meet there. It has been such a blessing to us!

We are off to celebrate a friends birthday later this afternoon. I will leave you with a picture of Brooks. Maybe the quality of this picture will persuade my sister to email me some better ones. But probably not.

Rubbing off on me

I titled our blog 'That's for sure' because my husband says it ALL THE TIME. It is like his go to phrase.

Well, today, for the first time....I said it. Not joking or making fun of him for anything. He was so proud.

Chris just ordered some new dress shoes because they did not have his size in the store. They arrived today. He made sure to check to make sure they were the correct size (which I thought was a little spastic). But sure enough, the sent a 9 left shoe and a 10.5 right shoe. Isn't that so annoying?

Twenty Ten

I am not even going to try to update what I have been up to this past several months. We were gone almost every weekend. I can safely say that we will probably never do that again. It was way too exhausting. However, we are glad that we got to do everything!

Here are a few random facts to start out the new year:

*Chris and I have been married for 8 months. Time flies! My mom did a really bad job at wrapping up our wedding cake - so it will probably be really gross. Oh, well.

*Speaking of time flying....Brooks turned 2. So sweet. He loves Thomas the train and cars in general. Oh yes, and watching tv.

*My Mamaw turns 86 today.

*Flower Mound had a white Christmas. Too bad we weren't here to enjoy it. But we were back home with the fam, so I think that is way better.

*Texas Tech coach Mike Leach got fired. I only care about this because my husband is a TTU alum. Big news in West Texas. HUGE.

*I'm still not sure if I'm going to say 'twenty ten' or 'two thousand ten'?

*I got three different type vacuum cleaners for Christmas. They have changed my life.

*I have been wanting some shelves to put in our office closet because we have a lot of small things sitting on the floor in there. Chris convinced me that building the bookshelf would be a good idea. It will not be finished until next weekend and I don't even want to know how much he spent on supplies -- but he is having the time of his life!

Happy 2010!
